Quite simply because it’s a corner of paradise immersed in a unique natural environment. But Lignano offers much more than an 8km beach; its lagoon is home to a variety of fauna and flora and it’s pine woods offer welcome shade on hot summer days. There are plenty of attractions to keep young and old entertained throughout their stay: Hemingway Park, UNICEF Park, Punta Verde Zoo, Acqua Splash water theme park, Strabilia funfair and Parco Junior, to name just a few…and let’s not forget the bustling city centre with its shops, bars and restaurants or the centre of Pineta with its elegant boutiques. Bars, clubs, discos and beach parties all contribute to Lignano’s lively nightlife.

Our Mission

You will discover that Lignano is more than sand, sea and fun; despite its relatively young age, Lignano is also culture, thanks to one of its past admirers in particular: Ernest Hemingway, the world famous author who was totally enamoured with Fruili and refered to Lignano as his Florida in Italy.

Lignano is the perfect destination to discover by bike or on foot. lt's also a great starting point for visiting the beautiful region of Friuli with its historical towns and charming countryside and villages where you can discover local food and outstanding wines.

Our history

A family of hoteliers undertook the building of this structure many years ago and have continued to this day with the same spirit of hospitality.

Pensions Al Cigno opened its doors to the first guests

The original building is still part of the existing structure today. Silvestro and Antoinetta began their adventure in the newly developing tourist resort of Lignano.

From "Pensione" to Hotel

With the growth of tourism and an ever increasing demand for accommodation, the second part of the hotel was built and assumed it's current form.

Environmental sustainability and construction of 11 new rooms

Our aim is to minimizer our impact on the environment; for this reason we have invested in solar roof panels. We have built 11 new refined and comfortable Deluxe rooms.
